Special Educational Needs
Harmans Water Primary School has approximately 420 pupils aged from 3 to 11 years. We are a school that strives to be inclusive for all pupils to enable them to make the best possible progress, to achieve well and obtain life long learning skills.
To achieve this aim, we recognise that every teacher is a teacher of SEND and we have a strong focus on providing consistent, inclusive, quality-first-teaching for all pupils. Our approach is child-centred, looking at each pupil as an individual. Therefore, in addition to our excellent quality-first-teaching, we offer bespoke, targeted interventions to support children who have special educational needs or disabilities. We base our strategies around a clear Assess, Plan, Do and Review cycle as part of the Graduated Approach.
We have a collaborative methodology and work effectively with other external professionals (such as Educational Psychologists or Speech and Language Therapists) providing resources and strategies that work for individuals across the school to make sure that all children receive the support that they need to make progress and achieve.
Our SENCO/Inclusion Manager at Harmans Water Primary School is Ms Clair-Louise Lawes. Please contact her via the school office should you wish to arrange a meeting.
